Neon Fall.

IMG_0748

I’m a big fan of simple and don’t like to wear anything too loud.  However, I am a huge fan of colors so I’m always playing with ways to add a little bit of color.  I love the lounge bras from Victoria Secret’s Pink! section for fun comfy pieces.  At the end of each season, they usually clearance out everything from the season ending which is where I swoop up some good stuff.

Another way I like to add to a simple black, white, or grey outfit is to add a fun lipstick.  I love love love this NARS lip color Angela that I’m wearing above.  It’s a cooler hue and lasts for hours.

How do you add color to your basics?

Bohemian Chic.

IMG_0754One style that I admire is the ever trending Bohemian look. I like the drapery, lace, and femininity. Take a look at how we styled this simple dress to add a bit of Bohemian flare.

Climb Challenge.

IMG_0684

Since getting into climbing, I’ve been realistic with my own progression but also set goals for where I want to take it.  I’ve always loved the idea of climbing outdoors so when I started climbing, I knew eventually I’d want to take it outside.  After doing tons of research on places to climb in the bay area, my climbing friend Kevin and I, took to scoping out one of the well known spots along beautiful and coastal highway 1.  We were planning to just scope it all out but once we saw some climbable boulders, we couldn’t resist.  We were also able to scope out some lead climbing routes that will be something for us to conquer in the near future!

Since we left pretty early in the morning, we were able to climb before it was too hot.  Once the fog burned off, it was a beautiful day and felt like such a great reward.  This spot had a nice little hike down and then to finish off the morning was a good little hike up and out.  Can’t wait to soak up the rest of the Indian Summer days!

Smart Chia Seed Almond Breakfast.

IMG_0691
I’ve never dabbled with the chia seed craze but a friend at work shared this super simple recipe that I love.  She even brought some into work for a few of us to try to sell us and it’s so delicious!  It’s easy to make but you need to let it set over night in the fridge.  Here’s the skinny on what you need and what to do:

  • 1 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 T chia seeds
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 2-3 t agave nectar syrup
  • Dash of cinnamon (I actually didn’t have cinnamon so I substituted with ground ginger)
  • Wisk or shake in mason jar make sure that all seeds and syrup is incorporated
  • Refrigerate overnight
  • Eat with berries and chopped raw almonds if preferred

After it set overnight, I added fresh raspberries.  It’s so tasty and filling.  The chia seeds expand and get soft like boba tea and it’s delightful.  I share this info though in case you are a texture person who does not prefer tapioca type textures 🙂

The mason jar made it really easy for me to transport.  I never usually have time to eat at home in the morning but was able to eat once I got to work.

Start your week off healthy and strong – enjoy!

Viva Las Vegas.

Rob and I just returned from an amazing trip which was anchored in Las Vegas.  It’s such a great place to be when you have all the time in the world.  We wandered, we drank, and just took it all in.  When in Vegas!

Perfect Pedi.

I have been using this pedicure trick since I was 15 years old, it’s just that great. I guarantee that you have all of the key ingredients in your cupboard already, now all you need is 30 minutes to the smoothest skin ever! I have tried this on my hands as well, but it was a total mess and you will see why!

DSC_1830(What you’ll need: olive oil, body lotion, sugar -or salt-, milk, and saran wrap)

DSC_1834(Warm 2 cups of milk, 1 cup of water, and a tablespoon of oil- make sure to just warm the mixture, do not let it boil)

DSC_1835(Pour your milk and oil mixture into a bowl and soak your feet for about 10 minutes)

DSC_1837(Mix a handful of lotion and a tablespoon of sugar in a bowl)

DSC_1839(Smooth the lotion and sugar mixture all over your already silky smooth feet)

DSC_1840(Wrap your lotioned feet in saran wrap- totally weird, I know)

DSC_1841(Take a towel soaked in HOT water and wrap that around the saran wrap. Let your feet sit for 5 minutes)

DSC_1851(Add your favorite color and you are all done)

Honestly, my feet always feel so smooth after doing this version of a pedicure. Perhaps now you can see why a manicure would be difficult, imagine wrapping saran wrap around both of your hands!
