I wore this outfit for the first time in class a couple of weeks ago and a classmate of mine couldn’t quite put her finger on what era it was from. Well, it’s definitely from Nordstrom Rack but has a little hippy flair to it, don’t you think?
(Nobody on this planet loves a turtleneck the way I do. This super soft and cozy one is Forever 21)
(Skirt- Mink Pink)
(These shoes look awesome on but are the most uncomfortable things on the planet; I think the heel is too thin. I tell you this because I love you. But, if you insist they are by Leuven Alexander)
I guess the point is, if you want to wear a turtleneck with a skirt- do it. Embrace elegant juxtaposition.
Oversized sweaters are my new jam. I love the way that I can curl up into them and pretty much every size fits because they’re supposed to not really fit, you know?
(Bedazzled bra- Victoria’s Secret, Ring- Madewell, Sweater- Free People)
(Skirt- Forever 21)
Yes, this sweater looks like a lot of fun and that’s because it is! Do you have any oversized sweaters you would like to share?
If you’re looking to stop traffic this afternoon, you should definitely wear purple. Purple looks great on every skin tone and and makes every outfit stand out just a bit more. So, if you’re feeling a little dull- boost your spirit with a shade of purple!
(Top- Forever 21, Pencil skirt- J. Crew, Heels- H&M)
(Chain link ring- Julia Szendrei Daily San Franciscan)
(Earrings- Kate Spade)
A pop of bold color makes me feel like my outfit is complete. I love adding accessories to round out my look and add a little flash, these basic earrings and chain link ring are the perfect addition to the outfit.
I am not sure why but every time I am going to a friend’s house to hang, I always have the toughest time choosing what to wear. I want to be comfortable but look fashionable at the same time; it’s a real struggle. My friend, Liv, gave me this basic top that has layers of sheer, it’s ultra-soft but has a great bohemian look- the answer to all of my casual wear problems.
(Top- Pins and Needles, Belt- Urban Outfitters, Chords- J. Crew, Lipstick- Sephora)
(Shoes- Banana Republic)
It feels good to be comfy and adding a Bastille record to the mix doesn’t hurt either.
*Shout out to Miles the DJ for my first vinyl!
Ok, I was super jealous when Brittany got this sweet shark sweatshirt so when I found out that Forever 21 had a dinosaur version– I had to have it! It’s so loud, fun, and quirky that it makes me feel eleven years old again.
(Layers of color- it has stopped people in their tracks)
(Ring- Marc Jacobs)
(Wedge sneakers- Charlotte Russe)
I love wearing outfits that flow from piece to piece naturally but make no sense at the same time. This is one of those outfits.
I have had this great wool skirt for a couple of years and while it is on it’s last leg, I wear it any chance I get. A basic skirt in a staple color like blue is easy to pair with pretty much any color, especially this unique pastel pink tank.
(Tank- Free People, honeycomb ring- Jackson and Polk)
(Earrings- Forever 21)
(My favorite part of this Free People tank is the braided detail. I want to figure out how to do this to some t-shirts that I have)
(Skirt- Forever 21, booties- Lucky Brand)
This is a great way to look polished without having to think too hard (my favorite way to dress)!
The sun is finally fading away and we are welcoming the foggy glow of October in San Francisco. I embrace it, I love bundling up in scarves and beanies but we captured one of the last sunny days in this printed ensemble.
(Cardigan and Top- Anthropologie, Skirt- Forever 21, Boots- Steve Madden)
(A touch of embroidery and delicate beading adds something special to this basic top)
Enjoy your weekend!
Brittany recently went to the NARS store to get matched with the perfect shade of lipstick. This season one of the best colors to wear is plums and purples, it really highlights all skin tones.
(Check out the NARS site here to see the different shades of satin lipsticks. However, you can visit any NARS counter or Sephora to have a specialist find the color that is perfect for you; it’s a lot of fun too!)
Do you have a favorite go-to brand for lipstick? We love NARS but for some cheaper options check out L’oreal and Maybelline, their colors last hours and are very bold!
Brittany gave me this uber soft infinity scarf for my birthday and I just love it. Now that Fall is finally here, it is the perfect touch to warm up pretty much any outfit. It matches perfectly with two new pieces that I just added to my wardrobe, a grey top and a pair of army green jeans.
(My favorite part of this top is the back buttoned detail)
My favorite thing to do is dress neutral pieces with a pop of color and this outfit just fell together that way.
I am constantly being inspired by pieces that I see put together on Pinterest. One look that I have loved for about a year now is preppy with a bit of grunge. Pairing this tartan print blazer with ripped jeans works great!
(Blazer- Zara, Top- James Perse)
(Jeans- Gap, Shoes- Vince Camuto)
This look would work in the office (a San Francisco office at least)!
