Retro Plaid.

DSC_0165I wore this outfit for the first time in class a couple of weeks ago and a classmate of mine couldn’t quite put her finger on what era it was from. Well, it’s definitely from Nordstrom Rack but has a little hippy flair to it, don’t you think?

DSC_0158(Nobody on this planet loves a turtleneck the way I do. This super soft and cozy one is Forever 21)

DSC_0195(These shoes look awesome on but are the most uncomfortable things on the planet; I think the heel is too thin. I tell you this because I love you. But, if you insist they are by Leuven Alexander)

DSC_0180I guess the point is, if you want to wear a turtleneck with a skirt- do it. Embrace elegant juxtaposition.

Leopard Sunshine.

DSC_0115Oversized sweaters are my new jam. I love the way that I can curl up into them and pretty much every size fits because they’re supposed to not really fit, you know?

Yes, this sweater looks like a lot of fun and that’s because it is! Do you have any oversized sweaters you would like to share?

Purple on Purple.

DSC_0073If you’re looking to stop traffic this afternoon, you should definitely wear purple. Purple looks great on every skin tone and and makes every outfit stand out just a bit more. So, if you’re feeling a little dull- boost your spirit with a shade of purple!

A pop of bold color makes me feel like my outfit is complete. I love adding accessories to round out my look and add a little flash, these basic earrings and chain link ring are the perfect addition to the outfit.

Hang Me Out To Dry.

DSC_0219I am not sure why but every time I am going to a friend’s house to hang, I always have the toughest time choosing what to wear. I want to be comfortable but look fashionable at the same time; it’s a real struggle. My friend, Liv, gave me this basic top that has layers of sheer, it’s ultra-soft but has a great bohemian look- the answer to all of my casual wear problems.

It feels good to be comfy and adding a Bastille record to the mix doesn’t hurt either.

*Shout out to Miles the DJ for my first vinyl!

Dino-Mite!

DSC_0269Ok, I was super jealous when Brittany got this sweet shark sweatshirt so when I found out that Forever 21 had a dinosaur version– I had to have it! It’s so loud, fun, and quirky that it makes me feel eleven years old again.

DSC_0266(Layers of color- it has stopped people in their tracks)

I love wearing outfits that flow from piece to piece naturally but make no sense at the same time. This is one of those outfits.

Blue Monday.

DSC_0044I have had this great wool skirt for a couple of years and while it is on it’s last leg, I wear it any chance I get. A basic skirt in a staple color like blue is easy to pair with pretty much any color, especially this unique pastel pink tank.

DSC_0052(My favorite part of this Free People tank is the braided detail. I want to figure out how to do this to some t-shirts that I have)

This is a great way to look polished without having to think too hard (my favorite way to dress)!

Here Comes the Sun.

IMG_0733The sun is finally fading away and we are welcoming the foggy glow of October in San Francisco. I embrace it, I love bundling up in scarves and beanies but we captured one of the last sunny days in this printed ensemble.

Enjoy your weekend!

Plum Pop!

IMG_0752Brittany recently went to the NARS store to get matched with the perfect shade of lipstick. This season one of the best colors to wear is plums and purples, it really highlights all skin tones.

(Check out the NARS site here to see the different shades of satin lipsticks. However, you can visit any NARS counter or Sephora to have a specialist find the color that is perfect for you; it’s a lot of fun too!)

IMG_0767

Do you have a favorite go-to brand for lipstick? We love NARS but for some cheaper options check out L’oreal and Maybelline, their colors last hours and are very bold!

Neutral Pop.

IMG_0812Brittany gave me this uber soft infinity scarf for my birthday and I just love it. Now that Fall is finally here, it is the perfect touch to warm up pretty much any outfit. It matches perfectly with two new pieces that I just added to my wardrobe, a grey top and a pair of army green jeans.

IMG_0808(My favorite part of this top is the back buttoned detail)

IMG_0805

IMG_0810My favorite thing to do is dress neutral pieces with a pop of color and this outfit just fell together that way.

Preppy Grunge.

IMG_0795I am constantly being inspired by pieces that I see put together on Pinterest. One look that I have loved for about a year now is preppy with a bit of grunge. Pairing this tartan print blazer with ripped jeans works great!
