The day has come, flare is back! I am so glad I kept a few of my favorite pairs of flare jeans. It’s been about 7 or 8 years since I have worn these but they still fit, that is the beauty of the flare 😉 I think the best way to wear this style is with a little height, I grabbed a great wedge that has a clog feel.

Autumn Colors.
One of my favorite skirts is rust colored (pictured above), it’s like the new black because it feels really neutral. I really love this rust, navy blue, and white color scheme because it feels so crisp. It’s getting close to the wire and soon I won’t be able to wear skirts without tights because it will just be too cold! Hopefully the sun stays out just a bit longer even though we need the rain in California!
(My favorite part of this vest is the sheer side panel)
(A long vest can also be worn with a thin belt at the waist to provide a bit more shape)
(The sweetest Tory Burch loafers handed down to me by Lindsay)
Preppy Chic.
As you may have read in Brittany’s previous posts, we found some really cute things at H&M. Summer fashion this year was a bit uninspiring but now that Fall is finally here, tons of stores are coming out with some great pieces. I found this pleated dress and scooped it up thinking it may be perfect to wear at my future bachelorette party.
(Love the cut-out in the back)
(Fitted with a stretchy material, it maintains an hour glass shape)
(Paired with my Franco Sarto kitten heels)
Friday Photography Tip.
When looking for a good spot to shoot photos (for your blog or of others if you are a photographer), one really good tip I’ve picked up along the way is where to place the background. Your subject will pop out much more if they are further away from the backdrop so long as it’s not a distracting background. This will leave your subject the main point of focus and everything else will be slightly a little more out of focus.
As you can see with the above photo, the floral is nice but a tad distracting. The background is also really close to me so it’s very much still in focus. Not that this is a bad photo but the first photo is much more interesting.
Get outside and play around with it this weekend (and don’t forget to send us a link if you post photos with this technique)!
Best Boxed Mix Pumpkin Bread.
I love to bake but if I’m being honest, I don’t always have the time to whip something up from scratch so I will frequent box baking from time to time :). I picked up the Pumpkin bread mix from Andronico’s over the weekend and made one of the best box mix pumpkin bread I’ve had (aside from pumpkin bread from scratch, my mom makes the best!). You have to add real pumpkin puree and of course I modified to ad some dark chocolate chips but it was really simple and delicious!
The Golden Hour.
{{skirt – H&M, top – H&M not online but alternative here, tank top – Nordstrom BP}}
Chels and I did a quick shopping trip to H&M recently and were pleasantly surprised with all of the fun work clothes they have right now. I got this fun patterned skirt and sheer lace bottomed top that I paired together. It’s an easy way to jazz up your work wardrobe for those who don’t want to spend a lot.
I love the combo of patterns and colors.
Get some fresh air after work today if the golden hour is just right :).

Jackson Lake Love.
My trip to Jackson Hole was honestly one of the most beautifully scenic trips I’ve taken. The Grand Tetons were constantly in the background of whatever we were up to and they were unbelievably beautiful. We spent a day on Jackson Lake on a pontoon boat we rented and Julia commanded for us. We cruised around and even took a chilly dip which felt like it was needed. I mean when in Jackson!
Just drinking a refreshing Radler.

Swimming in the cold lake was so refreshing and fun!
Back at the harbor. It was a perfect day to be on the lake!
Pinterest Pick – Pasta Modification.
I saw this delicious looking recipe on Pinterest and was excited to give it a try. The three cheese thing sounds amazing but I know that as much as I love cheese, I needed to add some form of veggie in there. I added fresh mushrooms and swapped the mozzarella for goat cheese. The cheese swap was simply a user error as I got the wrong cheese at the store but it turned out great. This is a good recipe to add to your must try list if you have the time!
DIY Coffee Zone.
I saw this great idea on Pinterest and was eager to give it a try. In my apartment, my roommates and I have an overwhelming amount of coffee mugs that take up multiple shelves so I was on the hunt for a fix to save space. We now have a lot more counter space and a cute coffee area.
This is the before, we needed some major organizational help.
I started from the top down, setting the new wall mug hangers first. I ordered them off of amazon.
The after! So much better.
What DIY projects are you getting into this weekend? Or share any links in the comments section of some of your DIY’s, I love getting ideas from other blogs and will link back 🙂
Modern Day Clueless.
Clueless was obviously one of my favorite movies when I was younger along with every other teen girl at the time. When I found this top recently, it reminded me of Cher in Clueless but a modern rendition if you will. The top doesn’t need many accessories as the collar adds a nice touch.
I had so much fun looking through all Cher’s outfits from Clueless in order to find the below outfit. They really did have some awesome wardrobes.
