Halloween Favorites!

ABC Family’s 13 Nights of Halloween
I know this sounds silly but ABC Family has been bringing the hits with the classic Halloween movies!  You still have two more nights of the goodness so if you want to watch, you can check out the schedule here!  My favorites include Casper, Hocus Pocus, and Adam’s Family.

Keep ’em coming.  I’m cracking up at all of the amazing animal costume pics I’ve been seeing.  Oh the things our pets do for us, they are the best!  Found this pic here with a handful of other hilarious pet costumes.

Baked Red Velvet Donuts.

I have an extreme love for donuts even though they make me feel bad after I eat too many, they are just so delicious.  A good friend of mine was moving and gave me a bunch of his baking goods from his kitchen.  One giveaway was a donut pan and a boxed mix (shocker, I’m a sucker for box mixes) and I’d say these turned out pretty good.  They tasted more like cake circles since they weren’t deep fried but there’s nothing wrong with that 🙂

The box mix was from Stonewall.  Be warned, this red dye is extremely strong.  I’ve been a huge advocate of natural lately so I feel like this goes against my grain but since they tasted pretty good, I thought I’d pass along the info.

North Lake.

We spent the weekend in Tahoe celebrating two of our close friends’ engagement and had a blast.  It’s so nice to be in the mountains and spending time with great friends.  We made a few photo stops throughout the weekend at some of the beautiful places to see in North Lake.  I love that the weather is starting to change and it’s just about beanie time 🙂

Room Re-do.

DSC_0958Nick and I recently made the big move out of the city and into Marin County. We now have an extra room to turn into an office/recreational room. Here are the steps we took to make the transformation.

DSC_0962(We purchased this multi-color rug from Overstock and love how vibrant it is)

DSC_0963(I had an old shelf and wasn’t sure what to do with it. I filled it with succulents, candles, and books. It still doesn’t feel done so this is a work in progress)

We still need to add pictures to the wall but haven’t settled on images yet. Any suggestions?

Color Matching.

I’ve been into purple hues lately when it comes to nail polishes and lipsticks.  Since I tend to wear simple colors, this helps me add some pop.  It can be hard to get the right tones for your complexion but once you find the right match, you can rock the color combo through all seasons.

Gray Malin Spotlight.

I recently discovered the amazing photographer, Gray Malin. Best known for his unique aerial shots, he really knows how to emphasize color from above. Here are a few of my very favorites!gray2

I love the refreshing look of these images. They make me feel so happy every time I look at them. They are a bit on the pricey side (in my opinion) but eventually I might bite the bullet and purchase some for our new home!

Blue Angels Recap.

Over the weekend, Fleet Week was happening in San Francisco and you can’t help but notice the planes flying overhead.  With a brother who is a professional pilot, I’ve seen a lot of planes and I can say they never get old.  I am fascinated by them and thoroughly enjoyed watching the Angels fly this past Saturday.  I sat on a beautiful roof top with some friends and watched the show while snapping pics.  Here’s my photo re-cap.

Winter is Coming!

I know it just turned into Fall but with the Fall weather has come a Winter reminder.  The weather seems to flop around a lot in the Fall so I love to bundle up on the cold mornings.  This north face jacket was a random purchase over the summer after my good friend, Brie, told me how this was one of her most useful purchases.  Now that I have one, I completely agree.  I wear it all the time!
