The day after Thanksgiving we took a mini road trip to Petaluma tocut down our very first Christmas tree in our new house. The California drought definitely took a toll on the options.

Sunshine in December.
I’m such a beanie and sunglasses type girl, that when it’s sunny in December I’m more than delighted to be able to wear both. When we were in Napa the other weekend, the sun made an appearance but it was still quite chilly for California :).
I love any type of weather as long as I’m dressed for it, so bring on winter!
Biking in Napa.
Rob and I spent last weekend in Napa hanging out after I won a free night’s stay at the Carneros Inn. I know! I used to be one of those people that said “I never win anything” until I won this great stay :). The resort is beautiful and posh so if you’re looking for a fancy weekend away in Napa, this is definitely the spot. We took the property bikes out for the day when we got there and spent some time pedaling around the back roads. It was beautiful and it felt great to be cruising around the orange and red vineyards.
Making sure we were following the back roads map 🙂
Goodbye Fall, It’s Been Nice.
This weekend we walked through downtown Petaluma and you could have sworn we were in Boston by the color of the trees. I had to stop and take pictures of these gorgeous maples turning from green to red.
Lastly, these gorgeous yellow leaves against the brilliant blue sky.
It was a beautiful day for primary colors! Now the trees will be leafless and the rain will come, I do love that too!
Fall Farewell.
If you read this blog, you know what a huge horse fan I am. Some of my favorite moments are spent at the barn no matter what the weather is. When the sun is going down, I find great solace in spending time at the barn during the golden hour as I like to call it :). I brought my camera out the last time I was there for a sunset and snapped some photos to be able to share this magical time.
All of the local animals are out at this time.
As we say farewell to Fall, I look forward to snowy winters in the mountains.
