Anthropologie’s Best Kept Secret.

Brittany turned me on to Anthropologie‘s kitchen wear about a year ago when she got me an awesome ceramic muffin dish that I absolutely adore. Since then, I have dreamed of updating my tiny kitchen with unique pieces from our favorite store! In case you haven’t checked out what they have to offer, I have picked out a few of my favorite items that they have right now. The price point is fair and everything that they offer is of very high quality so you really can’t go wrong!

Copper(These puts my bland colander to shame! I love the legs and of course, the copper tone. $30-58)

35790328_010_b(This would make a great DIY project! $40)

35858570_010_b(Marble, glass, and wood. A very modern way of presenting cheese at a party. $78)

36128510_027_b(Not a must have by any means, but extremely cute! $78)

32578031_028_b(Lastly, these copper measuring cups are classic! $28)

Cranberry Margarita(Place all of the ingredients into a blender and top with 3 cups of ice)

Cranberry Margarita(Blend until smooth. Garnish the rim of your glass with sugar)

Cranberry Margarita(Don’t drink these too quickly, they are delicious but the buzz will go to your head rather quickly!)

Do It Virtually.

One of my favorite sports of all time is bowling. I love it so much that when I was a senior in high school, I co-founded The Bowling Club. We had about 20 club members and bowled maybe 2 times together over the course of a year. Needless to say, it was a lot of work managing that kind of activity. We wrapped gifts for donation, sold Christmas Trees at the high school tree lot, and we may have even washed a car or two all to raise money in the name of bowling. But once we discovered Virtual Bowling at the Metreon arcade in downtown San Francisco, we never went to the bowling alley again. The Metreon didn’t smell like foot, we never had to wait for an open lane (since no one wanted to bowl virtually but us), and it was a legitimate workout- you’d work your arms so hard you couldn’t help but sweat. Recently, I went with some friends to the local Dave & Busters and I darted straight to the Virtual Bowling stand and introduced them to my favorite teenage pastime. What is virtual bowling, you ask? Let me show you!

Virtual Bowling(It’s a podium with a real bowling ball that you spin like an old video game controller)

Virtual Bowling(You maneuver your bowling ball across the streets of San Francisco or which ever level you choose)

Virtual Bowling(You try to knock down the pins at the end of the level)

Virtual Bowling(It’s fierce competition)

Virtual Bowling(It’s hard not to attract spectators)

Honestly, it’s so much fun. And now that we are older, we can’t make it through one full game, we need a serious break. It’s that hard. If you have a fun arcade nearby, check it out. I promise, you won’t leave smelling like a dirty shoe but with a lot of sweaty memories with your friends.

It’s A Grand Opening!

This past month I was lucky enough to be a part of the grand opening of the new Microsoft store in downtown San Francisco. While this might not sound like a big deal, they really know how to open a store. Everyone who walked through the doors that day got a pair of Blake Shelton tickets and the opening itself was really amazing. A huge curtain dropped to reveal at the inside which is decorated by screens and pictures of the city- it’s very beautiful and interactive! Here are some pictures from that day.

Microsoft Grand Opening 150(Steph and I could not contain our excitement)

Microsoft Grand Opening 217(All I wanted to do was be part of the group)

Microsoft Grand Opening 218(Yeah! They let me in their club!)

Microsoft Grand Opening 158(Everyone got  a sweet purple Microsoft tee!)

Microsoft Grand Opening 256(The turnout was amazing!)

If you haven’t checked out some of their new gadgets, you should! They are pretty sleek and easy to use which is something I was really impressed with. Check to see if they are opening a store near you because you definitely want to be a part of it. They give out free concert tickets, score!

What it Feels Like to Lose a Follower…

IFL Headquarters

I guess (s)he wasn’t that into us. You know this blogging thing is a real wave of emotion.  One day someone new clicks that magical “+follow” symbol on your page (hint hint) and cha-ching we’ve got a true friend for life!  A golden email brightens up our mailbox and we instantly giggle with delight for it is a glorious moment. But guess what? It isn’t all cupcakes and rainbows because apparently they can un-follow us just as easily! What gives, WordPress? What gives?! Seriously, if we try to unsubscribe to a local grocery store mailing list we have to call an 800 number, wait on hold for 15 minutes, give them our mothers’ maiden name and then agree to full body cavity search we must plan for later that week- and it must be that week; we have to take a day off of work. The “unfollow” button is a little too easy of an out but we still love you WordPress!

We wanted you to know what we go through each time we lose a follower.

My Personal Icons.

I am a firm believer that our personalities are made up of different parts and that is what makes us all unique, and in my case, adorable.

ICON

I often get asked, “Danger, how are you so amazing and at the same time well balanced and down to Earth?” The answer is never simple but it is always the same, “just am”. But that isn’t the truth. I have always had some spectacular role models and while they are still evolving, I think the diagram above shows you a bit more about me and where I get my influences and how I strive to be.

STYLE– Gwen Stefani: We gotta start at the top, Gwen has been my favorite Orange County Girl since I was 12. That is 17 years of looking up to someone I truly want to be like. She is married to a hot guy (I am currently dating one, check). She has 2 adorable kids (well, I have the potential for that, half check). And she always looks polished (double check!) I often ask myself WWGD? before I walk out the door.

CLASS– Rachel McAdams: I am not going to lie, she is just really pretty and I have a girl-crush on her. I love the way she always looks classic, I am constantly working on that.

SASS- Shirley Manson: Her stage presence is larger than life and I always get the vibe that she doesn’t take sh*t from anyone and I love her for it. “Do you have an opinion, a mind of your own? I’ve run out of patience, I couldn’t care less.” She’s amazing.

WIT- Mindy Kaling: She is hilarious, smart, and isn’t afraid to look silly on TV. I really like her sense of humor and her book was a great read. She’s just simply likeable.

DOPPLE-NESSAlexis Bledel: I don’t know, I’ve been told countless times that I resemble this girl so I might as well embrace it. Afterall, she is 31 and looks about 17 and I am 29 and look about 16. I think we might be kindred spirits here.

LIFE- Amy Poehler: She just rocks at life. I love her show, she makes me laugh every week. She is so smart, so so smart and I love that way she isn’t afraid to make a fool of herself for a good joke. She had this great quote “No one looks stupid if they are having fun.” It’s kinda true, right?

Not So Silent Night Pre-Party

IMG_5631

Well the most wonderful time of the musical year came and went this past weekend.  It was awesome to have three jammed pack nights of top billboard artist musical performances.  The first night (Not So Silent Night Pre-Show) was on Thursday night at the Mezzanine in downtown San Francisco.  Walk the Moon, Atlas Genius, and Foster the People were the bands to kick off the three nights of musical bliss.  Here are some photos and you can see more on Live105.com.  Were any of you there?

Mark Foster from Foster the People continued on into the late night with a dj set.  I went home to catch some sleep before another big two days of shows.  This was an awesome opener to two more awesome days of shows.  Sometimes our work does not suck.  Did any of you make it to Not So Silent Night this weekend??
