Goodbye Fall, It’s Been Nice.

This weekend we walked through downtown Petaluma and you could have sworn we were in Boston by the color of the trees. I had to stop and take pictures of these gorgeous maples turning from green to red.

It was a beautiful day for primary colors! Now the trees will be leafless and the rain will come, I do love that too!

Fall Farewell.

If you read this blog, you know what a huge horse fan I am.  Some of my favorite moments are spent at the barn no matter what the weather is.  When the sun is going down, I find great solace in spending time at the barn during the golden hour as I like to call it :).  I brought my camera out the last time I was there for a sunset and snapped some photos to be able to share this magical time.

As we say farewell to Fall, I look forward to snowy winters in the mountains.

Post Halloween Fun.

2015-10-31 08.36.20Nick and I had a few friends over to hand out candy to trick or treaters and play board games this Halloween. Nick makes an amazing guacamole, he has a secret ingredient and everything. Since it was Halloween and we had an extra pumpkin, we decided to present the chips and dip in a fun/gross way (see above).

2015-10-31 08.36.36(The dip went quick!)

2015-10-31 08.36.45(We made a spiced apple cider cocktail and had cold beers on hand too)

2015-10-31 08.36.54(I cooked up the pumpkins seeds and put pomegranate seeds and rosemary sprigs aside for garnish- both from our backyard!)

All in all, the gathering was a success. Fall is my favorite time of year so it’s a real treat to get to eat some of my favorite flavors (pumpkins included).

Autumn Colors.

DSC_0906One of my favorite skirts is rust colored (pictured above), it’s like the new black because it feels really neutral. I really love this rust, navy blue, and white color scheme because it feels so crisp. It’s getting close to the wire and soon I won’t be able to wear skirts without tights because it will just be too cold! Hopefully the sun stays out just a bit longer even though we need the rain in California!

It’s been hard to keep up with what kind of weather we are having in SF, especially since we are embarking on a heat wave this week.  However if you get up early enough, you will feel the crisp ocean air.  With the long weekend, Rob and I spent some time enjoying the city while most people decided to leave it.  We went down to the local farmer’s market and found these large beautiful sunflowers.

Fall Fantastic.

IMG_0814In San Francisco, September and October are the warmest months of the year. It gets warm enough for skirts and dresses during the day but brisk enough at night to pull out thick sweaters. It’s my favorite time for many reasons; the air is crisp, everything smells like pumpkin, and I get to pull out my warm toned clothing.

I love, love, love being comfortable.  Nothing says it more to me than some good leggings, a sweater, and a hat of the moment (because I love hats).  It’s always good to feel comfortable and also warm enough for running errands or being outside.

With the rain (and snow) on it’s way, it will be time to add layers.  In the meantime, enjoy the sweater weather!

Last Drops of Fall.

Last Drops of FallRecently my friend Lindsay got me this flowered peplum top and it feels like it’s the last time I will be able to wear it for a while so I thought I would share it with you!
