Since we have finally received some rain, it’s so nice to see the hills so green! I put Maz in this plush, beautiful and green pasture to play with his brother Phillip (the white horse in the photos). They were having a great time so I brought my camera and snapped some pics of them. As much as I love winter, there’s nothing like a sunny barn day to relax and hang out.
Maz was really loving running around!
After they’d run around for a while, they’d stop and pluck some grass.
Then I let them join their other horse friend, Joia, and the birds came swooping in. I wish there was such a thing as a professional horse photographer, I’d be all over that 🙂
If you read this blog, you know what a huge horse fan I am. Some of my favorite moments are spent at the barn no matter what the weather is. When the sun is going down, I find great solace in spending time at the barn during the golden hour as I like to call it :). I brought my camera out the last time I was there for a sunset and snapped some photos to be able to share this magical time.
All of the local animals are out at this time.
The lighting is beautiful.
As we say farewell to Fall, I look forward to snowy winters in the mountains.
Ever since my big horse trip in Bosnia, I’ve been chasing that fun riding and have been checking out new places to go riding trails. A friend of mine had a great recommendation and wanted to go riding as well in Point Reyes, CA last weekend so we went here and had an awesome and beautiful ride with Susie and her beautiful Arabians. She can accommodate all levels and has very well behaved horses. It was a great chance to explore northern California in my most favorite way 🙂
On our way to the trail head, there were some great horse signs on the road.
My adorable horse was named, Cody.
The mountains and the views were stunning.
Trish and I on top of the trail with our sweet horses.
We rode through so many different terrains.
The redwoods were beautiful, too!
We packed the horses up to take them to the trail so we also put them back in after the ride.
We did about a 2hr ride and there were about 5x of us as guests. The drive from San Francisco to Point Reyes was beautiful and the town is adorable with a little main street. I can’t wait to go back and check out more of Susie’s trails!

I had the pleasure of riding a friends’ horse, Ritzi, for her while she was out on work travel. Rob came along with me and snapped some photos. This is my happy place, riding horses and being outside. Also, since the weather has been so warm everything has really brightened up.
Practicing our extended trots.
I love my Sundays at the barn. Taking care of the horses and riding them. It’s my happy place 🙂
What’s your happy place?
Sometimes, it’s nice to jump on with no saddle and no worries. It’s not very practical to train bareback but I do love a ride every now and then sans saddle. My friends recently got me this awesome duster sweater that I just love. It’s a great sweater I can wear casually, riding, or even dress it up.
Taking an evening ride.
Galloping bareback up the hill.
A winter storm is coming in but very much welcome with the drought we are in.
In a week full of thanks, I’m thankful for horses among many other things.
Happy Thanksgiving week!

After returning from my trip, I was excited to be reunited with Maz (the horse I ride at home). I was really inspired by my trip and I couldn’t wait to get back in the saddle or shall I say no saddle! I can’t tell if he even noticed I was gone or had been horse cheating on him but it was nice to get out to the barn again. Horse hugs are the best kind of hugs!
I hear from so many friends and family that they would love to know what it is like to be in the saddle but are a tad too timid to try. For those that ever want to know what it feels like, it’s pure freedom. It’s the only sport where human and animal work so closely together. It’s amazing the power the animals have yet don’t choose to abuse it. In Bosnia, we rode in a different direction each day and each direction was full of different views. Here are a few photos from in the saddle 🙂
Fall was in full swing. I love the changing of seasons and I loved hearing the leaves crunch under the horses feet.
In some deeper water.
Above the clouds.
The first frosty morning before the snow came!
Riding through a creek.
Riding by ruins.
Everything was perfectly dusted.
This is one of my favorites.
I have sooo many images to share and I love to look back at them. I’ll try to swap some fashion posts in between but there are many more horse photos to come!
