Secondhand Sweets

IMG_5485

I have lately been scoring some great finds through second hand venues and I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you. Firstly, where I live we have a handful of great consignment spots and I have gotten a few things for $10-$20 that would have cost upwards of $200 new, it’s insane. Secondly, if I am looking for something in particular, my new go-to is the Poshmark app. I’ve actually been selling things as well, it’s kind of like a clothes swap that I am super into.

IMG_5487(I LOVE this Paige acid wash denim jacket, it’s got a great side zip that can make any outfit instantly cooler)

IMG_5489_2(I just got this dress from Zara and it is super soft. It’s great because I can wear it even when the weather isn’t too warm)

I’m all in for second-hand scores mostly because I get bored with clothing and want to switch it up which can be an expensive habit- but it is a fraction of the cost when I am taking it off of someone else’s hands. Let me know some of your favorite second hand finds in the comments below!

Maker Feature.

Timber GardensThe Treasure Island Flea Market is full of all kinds of creations but one that Brittany and I both loved were these succulent planters handmade by a husband and wife duo called Timber Gardens. They had all kinds of shapes and sizes and each one came with a tiny handmade “bird house” made out of an acorn!

Timber Gardens(Just in time for Valentine’s Day!)

Timber Gardens(Brittany chose one circular shape that would fit perfectly in her new apartment)

What a friendly pair with such unique items, they would make perfect gifts because they are unexpected.

Magical Mystery Bus.

Treasure Island FleaOne of our favorite vendors at the Treasure Island Flea Market was this teal blue school bus filled to the brim with second hand clothes. I am pretty sure it was manned by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros which was pretty cool too! There were so many things to choose from and it was just a lot of fun walking around and picking through all of the clothing.

Treasure Island Flea(I thought this denim jacket had potential, maybe a new DIY project?)

Treasure Island Flea(Brittany fell in love with this sparkling jacket)

Treasure Island Flea(Take a good look at everything before you decide, make sure that you will actually wear it before you pull the trigger and purchase it)

Treasure Island Flea(A space for everything)

Treasure Island Flea(I think our photographer was getting a little antsy!)

Overall, it was one of the most creative setups that we saw at the Flea Market! We’ll check it out next time and see if we can score any good finds!

Urban Cowgirl.

Urban Cowgirl

On summer days like these, we want to wear boots but it is too hot to throw over pants so we decided to pull out jean shorts instead! It’s a simple outfit that is always cute for pretty much any season!

Urban Cowgirl(A light flannel shirt with a scooped back works perfectly with these shorts!)

Urban Cowgirl(layered necklaces add a pop of color)

Urban CowgirlWe love the back detail of these boots we scooped up at Charlotte Russe!

Wedding Wear Part One.

It’s Summer and that always means one thing, weddings. Brittany recently got some great dresses from Charlotte Russe and thought they would be great to wear at some upcoming weddings. I couldn’t agree more!

Wedding1

(Dress from Charlotte Russe)

Wedding2

(Blue and tan are great wedding colors, pretty much color but white and black)

Wedding3(The zipper details is one of my favorite parts of the dress)

Wedding4

Wedding5(A bold nail color adds to the Summer feel)

Wedding6(Open toed shoes are a must at warm weddings)

Wedding7(We opted for no necklace, instead a geometric earring)

We love dressing up for any occasion but weddings are the most fun, just make sure you put something on that you can dance in!

Spring Steals

blue-dress-4It’s almost Summer and I have been scoring some great deals on dresses. The best part about an inexpensive dress is dressing it up with accessories and fun shoes! Everything I am wearing was under $20 each and that’s kind of awesome.

blue-dress-2(Dress, Cotton On. Shoes, Forever 21. Glasses, H&M)

blue-dress-3(I just got these glasses at H&M for $6.95 and have been living in them)

blue-dress-5(My favorite jewelry find from Forever 21, it was $4.80)

The best thing about fashion is that it can be super cheap and super over the top crazy expensive. Sure, sometimes I splurge but when I do, it’s on something I have lusted after and will take care of. But a lot of my clothing is cheap and trendy things that I don’t mind not wearing next season. I am constantly donating clothing to justify refilling my closet, but that’s the best part of being a girl, right?

Gilt-y Pleasures

If you are anything like me that means you like to score a deal when you can. One of my favorite online shopping apps is called “Gilt” and I often find myself spending hours sifting through all of their designer deals of the day. Today I found myself lusting over so many goodies that I just had to share some of my favorites!

Moschino Umbrella(April in San Francisco can still bring sprinkles and this u-handle umbrella is perfection)

Moncollet dress(This dress is perfect for work and play)

nude handbag

(This purse by Deux Lux is a great neutral bag because it’s not too clunky)

ID Bracelet(I have always always always wanted an ID bracelet and this is the perfect amount of chunky chain and plate to make it not so dainty)

Sam Edelman(Sam Edelman never gets it wrong with their shoes so why would their jackets be any different? When I saw this side zipped light jacket, I thought “wow”. Love)

Gilt hit it on the head today, I found too many things that I loved. If you have some down time, I think you should check it out!
