North Lake.

We spent the weekend in Tahoe celebrating two of our close friends’ engagement and had a blast.  It’s so nice to be in the mountains and spending time with great friends.  We made a few photo stops throughout the weekend at some of the beautiful places to see in North Lake.  I love that the weather is starting to change and it’s just about beanie time 🙂

Winter is Coming!

IMG_4401

I know it just turned into Fall but with the Fall weather has come a Winter reminder.  The weather seems to flop around a lot in the Fall so I love to bundle up on the cold mornings.  This north face jacket was a random purchase over the summer after my good friend, Brie, told me how this was one of her most useful purchases.  Now that I have one, I completely agree.  I wear it all the time!

What do you like to bundle up in?!

Weekend Warrior.

With the CA weather whacky as ever, it seems we’ve skipped winter.  This makes me sad because I love snow and winter but like with anything else, we roll with what we’ve got and I can’t complain because it’s been beautiful out.  It’s time to pack up that bag and hit the road for the weekend.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Bundle Up Butter Cup.

IMG_5234It’s official, the cold weather has rolled in.  I have such a hard time staying bundle and making sure people know I’ve actually changed my clothes since I have a hard time shedding my jacket that I wear on the daily.  Here are some good sweaters and layering ideas to keep you warm!

(I layer flannels and sweaters so when the sleeves and/or collar pop out, there’s cute detailing)

(I also love adding a beanie.  The majority of heat your body generates is from your head so keep those noggins warm!)

Beanie Baby.

IMG_5297OK, if you weren’t born in the ’80s ‘Beanie Baby’ may be a completely unfamiliar term which really doesn’t have anything to do with this post besides the related word ‘beanie’.  My friends and family know that I am the queen of beanies.  I love nothing more than a good knit to throw on when the temperatures start to drop.  Wouldn’t you know though, I have an entire drawer dedicated to beanies for my different outdoor needs.  Here’s my guide for beanies this fall/winter.

IMG_5322This thin knit Charlotte Russe beanie is great for being active outdoors.  It’s tight enough to stay on but also lets the top of your head breathe a little.

My Neff beanies are great for snowboarding.  Anything fitted and even that my goggles can pop right on is great.

IMG_5314Love my Free People beanie for city strolling.  The large stitch allows air to flow through nicely and it’s only gotten better the more it gets worn in.

IMG_5296
This thick knit Forever21 beanie is the warmest and could be worn for any activity.  It also has cute small stitched hearts which adds soft detail.

Street wear Neff beanie.  This one is great because you can roll it into a good snowboarding beanie or keep it loose.

Dock Days.

IMG_5137The cold weather has been coming in and I love this time of year because it’s a reminder of the wonderful seasons we have.  I love seeing all four seasons transition and seeing some of my favorite spots at different times of the year.  Chelsea and I were at Fallen Leaf Lake recently hanging down on the dock.  It’s the perfect time to add some layers and bask in these gorgeous Fall days.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Monday Bright Blues.

With the weather cooling down, we are excited to bundle up. I love nothing more than the changing of seasons and I still love being outside as long as I’m dressed warm enough. Beanies and over-sized jackets are our favorite clothes in the winter.

Beanie Couture.

One thing you can always count on about San Francisco is the chilly Winters. Sometimes the weather is in between freezing and on-the-verge-of-being-nice which is why we always have a beanie on hand! We snapped some shots on our lunch break displaying all the different kinds of beanies we love to wear.

1(the slouchy beanie is one of our favorites, it is pretty trendy in this city)

2(I love this beanie on Brittany! She always reminds me of Waldo in it, a prettier Waldo of course.  Beanie: Sessions brand)

3(I picked up this slouchy one in Chinatown for $5- they have some sweet deals)

4(I am borrowing this beanie for my trip to Paris since it covers your ears!)

5(This one resembles a beret, I grabbed it at Anthropologie a few years ago)

6(the slouchy black beanie is a definite classic.  Beanie: Free People)

7(This is one of Britt’s floral beanies, she has a bunch. They are really cute and cozy!  Beanie: Target)

It would be hard for us to get through this crisp Winter without our favorite accessory. It not only keeps you warm, it adds a little color and flare to any outfit. We personally think that you can never have enough!
