The Clash.

The ClashNow that it’s Spring, I have been dabbling with bolder colors and mixing prints as most of Spring is inspired by the blooming flowers.

A simple DIY- pluck some of your favorite sturdy blossoms and put them in a decorative dish filled with water. Happy Spring!

I’ve had this liking for collars in fashion for quite some time but when I saw this collar necklace I had to snag it.  This pink collar really adds some preppy cuteness to an everyday outfit.  This specific piece was a sample but I found so many great collar necklaces on etsy (like this one) in case you are looking for this fun addition!

Another reason to rock the cut-outs.

With Valentine’s Day coming up, why not dress a little extra cutesy?

Stripes and Pearls.

Stripes and Pearls(Sweater Forever 21, Skirt Forever 21, Tights Nordstrom, Booties Luxury Rebel)

One of my favorite things to do is wear skirts when the temperature starts to drop. It doesn’t make much sense but I just want to find any reason to pull out a pair of tights, they are more comfortable than pants and look so much more sleek with shoes. I liked pairing this grey pearl sweater with a flared striped skirt because it feels simple but has a lot of character.

Dock Days.

IMG_5137The cold weather has been coming in and I love this time of year because it’s a reminder of the wonderful seasons we have.  I love seeing all four seasons transition and seeing some of my favorite spots at different times of the year.  Chelsea and I were at Fallen Leaf Lake recently hanging down on the dock.  It’s the perfect time to add some layers and bask in these gorgeous Fall days.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Plum Diamonds.

Plum DiamondsThe color of the season (for me at least) is plum. When I saw this pleather skirt I knew I had to scoop it up. The high waist was the perfect partner to this collared crop top I had just purchased.

Plum Diamonds(The rhinestones add something extra to this cropped sweater)

Plum Diamonds(Thick grey tights keep the warmth)

Plum Diamonds(Plum booties, from Forever 21)

Plum DiamondsI love skirts and tights in Fall, it is my absolute favorite look of the season. I can’t wait to scoop up more plum colored pieces soon!

Coffee Break.

Coffee OutfitThe best part about Summer is being able to sip your iced coffee outside on the patio and not freeze your butt off! The simple weekend outfit made it easy to lounge around the house comfortably.

Coffee Outfit(The best part of this shirt is the lacey detail in the back)

Sit back and have a relaxing weekend! See you on Monday!

Dude Looks Like a Lady

You know, I always thought guys had it easier when I was younger because they didn’t have to care about what they wore.  With women, it’s “is this skirt long enough?” “are these shoes comfortable?” “will this shirt get lint all over the rest of my outfit?”  Now we have found a way to mend the two.  Men’s clothing is so comfortable and can be extremely cute too.

(What, is it hard to start the fire pit?)

(Boyfriend style watch (from SF’s Jest Jewels) and Ben Sherman men’s shirt)

(Aviators really add a little sass to the outfit and we all know I loveeee sass)

(My favorite Steve Madden Booties.  They have the best shoes)

(I love this belt.  I got it from the clearance section at Urban Outfitters.  I recommend going to this section in the store instead of buying online because you don’t always know how things are going to fit)

This was a fun and comfortable outfit to put together and those are two things that are great assets to a confident day.  Don’t have a boyfriend to borrow their clothes?  Don’t worry, me either – I have Chelsea steal the shirts for me 🙂

Embracing Autumn.

Fall Full Body

In my opinion, Fall is the most wonderful time of the year. The leaves are changing colors, the weather is perfect, and the aroma of pumpkin fills the air. Fall is a season that I wish would stay all year round.

Fall Standing
(It’s not pant season yet! This fluttery orange skirt serves as the focal piece and looks amazing with a light blue chambray top.)
Fall Booties
(These neutral booties are super comfortable and I will be rocking them all season long)
Fall Skirt
(I try to pull out as much orange as possible during September and October, I can’t get enough. This skirt is light and beautiful!)
(Here is a more detailed view of the booties, as well as a closer look at my woven hat and accent necklace piece.)

We’re Over It.

We have been under a lot of stuff lately. Things like pita salad sandwiches, matte finish lipgloss, and ginger chocolates (yeah, we know!) are flawless items that make us so happy. But lately we have been feeling a little disgruntled when thinking about certain styles and foods that we used to love. Maybe you are just as pissed off as we are, are you over it too?

Boots-VS-Booties(This seems silly but if we see another girl with high boots and skinny jeans, we are going to PASS OUT from boredom. This style is exhausted and that’s why we love booties! They have the same curb appeal as boots but can be dressed up and down in a simpler way. Studded, suede, or shiny, we LOVE them!)

Bangles-vs-Bracelets(Bangles are cute but they are clunky, loud, and so big that they fly off your wrist and smack your co-worker straight in the face. That’s why we are crazy about homemade friendship bracelets. We recently bought a ton of supplies and have been making them for each other on our commute to work! You can wear as many as your arm can hold, and still look classier than an arm full of bangles. Check out an amazing DIY here!)

Pizza-vs.-Oatmeal

(In an office environment it is hard to stay healthy, that’s why we eat oatmeal in the morning. Yeah, we’re over it. Hand us another slice of that week old pizza please, we’ll eat a salad at lunch.)

Ice-Cream-FroYo(I know you may have been expecting us to pick the ice cream after the cold pizza comment but come on, we’re not monsters. FroYo is a healthy and delicious alternative to ice cream. I read somewhere that you can eat like 40 bowls of FroYo and still not equal one bowl of ice cream, or something like that. I don’t know, this stuff is delicious, especially if you add gummi bears, you gotta add gummi bears otherwise I just don’t see the point.)
