On Me, On You.

I bought this headband while at Coachella from a woman who makes these awesome reversible headbands by hand.  I love to support people who create their own jewelry, clothes, paintings, etc.  I think it’s so awesome to see people working hard at something they love.  Nonetheless, I bought this headband on the spot and I couldn’t be more happy with it.  In our newest series “On Me, On You”, we show how the same piece of jewelry or clothing can look great in different ways on different people.

I like to rock the jeweled side because it can make a t-shirt just that much more fancy.

The feather side is just as pretty!  We both chose the side that one might think would blend in with our hair tones a bit more but the more subtle the better (at least we prefer!).

These earthy tones really look beautiful with Chelsea’s brunette locks.

The feather tails at the end are the perfect dangles.

This headband is also great because you can tie it to the size you’d like for wherever you’d like to place the headband.  Making this easy to share 🙂  DIY coming soon!

Coachella Chic.

Coachella ChicCoachella is kind of like this weird place where you can wear absolutely anything you want and it is cool. I won’t be there this year but Brittany will and from the sounds of it, Coachella gets hot! I think the key to that particular festival is to wear something that will keep you cool but maybe with sweet combat boots (my favorite) to ensure your toes stay attached to your feet!

Coachella Chic(Must have #1: Cheap shades. Chances are, these babies aren’t going to survive the weekend, so make sure they are cute but under $10)

Coachella Chic(Must have #2: This is the softest tee I have ever worn, dress for comfort!)

Coachella Chic(Must have #3: Risk. Wear something you probably wouldn’t otherwise. In my case, high waisted acid wash shorts. These are pretty cool but I probably wouldn’t wear them in my normal day to day life)

Coachella ChicPut these all together and you have a pretty solid outfit for Coachella. Now, enjoy the music!

Post Coachella Style.

Coachella-1Coachella was amazing this year and I even scored some awesome stuff like this BCBG top that I love!  I’m normally not the type to rock a crop top but BCBG made this one to fit all body types.  Not to mention, I love it in this mint green color.  They also gave me this amazing bracelet which you will see closer up further in the post.  I had the best time “glamping” (glamour+camping in our RV :)) with my friends at Vestal Village.  It’s one of the most amazing places in the world to be.

Coachella-6(BCBG custom bracelet!  My favorite)

Coachella-3(Heart sunnies)

Coachella-2

You don’t always have to be at a music festival to rock your music festival fashion come-ups!  Some of my new favorite pieces were from BCBG this year.  I’ll be going to a music festival in the Netherlands in a few weeks and I can’t wait to see the fashion over there.  I’ll keep the blog updated with what I find 🙂

Portugal. The Man

Portugal. The Man has been one of my favorite bands for the past five years. And since moving back home to San Francisco two and a half years ago I have been able to see them play live three times. Each time better than the last and this past Friday’s show at the Independent was no exception. This show had these floating orbs that changed colors, which added a little flare I have never seen before. Check out the pics.

(The Independent is a tiny venue, holding about 400 people. It feels like you are part of the band)

(If he took another step, he’d be in the crowd)

Check out a little snippet of the show. If you haven’t heard of them yet, you soon will. Their new album is due out June 4 and is produced by Danger Mouse.

Coachella Spotlight Artist to Watch: Alt-J

IMG_8649If you like music from bands like Mumford and Sons (who actually covered the Alt-J song ‘Tessellate’ in BBC studio session) and the Lumineers mixed with powerhouse vocals, you’ve found your match in Alt-J.  I can’t say enough great things about this band.  They are sky rocketing and rightfully so.  I was introduced to their music by a friend a while back and have caught multiple shows by them.  Each time, they sound flawless.  We were so excited when our work announced that they’d be bringing two of the band members in to perform an acoustic set, we were ecstatic.  They are in CA touring inbetween and around Coachella which they will be performing at both weekends.  If you are going to either weekend, do not miss this band.

Alt-J is exploding with talent.  Check them out and try to catch them at a smaller venue before they are selling out arenas 😉

Coachella Wants and Wishes

Coachella 2012With the massive music lovers festival right around the corner (literally), I’ve began to pack.  Packing is so much fun for Coachella because despite my experience with the extremely cold weather last year (we deemed it Snowchella), it’s typically the first taste of real summer.  Our whole group of friends rallies together to camp out away from the festival on an amazing piece of property where there are horses, a pool, and endless good times.  During my packing process, I’ve come across many items that are totally justifiable to buy and bring and also many that are a more of a want (the things you want to buy but can’t justify when you know Coachella may be the only place you get to rock the piece).

BP Sunglasses(WANT: BP sunglasses are my jam!  They are always under $15 and adorable.  Not to mention you don’t feel bad if they get lost or broken)

white scalloped swim suit(WISH:  These amazing scalloped swimsuits designed by Stone Cold Fox are definitely on my wish list)

cheetah print vans(WANT: These cheetah print vans are wild and cute)

Spell Byron Bay Skirt(WISH: Beautiful maxi skirts/dresses to wear to stay cool and enjoy the festival.  This one is by Spell Designs)

Anyone else going to Coachella this year?!  What musicians are you looking forward to seeing?
