Biking in Napa.

IMG_4741

Rob and I spent last weekend in Napa hanging out after I won a free night’s stay at the Carneros Inn.  I know!  I used to be one of those people that said “I never win anything” until I won this great stay :).  The resort is beautiful and posh so if you’re looking for a fancy weekend away in Napa, this is definitely the spot.  We took the property bikes out for the day when we got there and spent some time pedaling around the back roads.  It was beautiful and it felt great to be cruising around the orange and red vineyards.

Jungle Garden.

While in the jungle in Belize, we stayed on a property of over 73,000 acres.  There were so many beautiful plants and walkways, I loved seeing all the different types of plants that thrived in the Belizean Jungle.

These reminded me of Fall colors in the states.

Hawaiian Skies 2014.

One of my favorite parts of the time I spend in Hawaii each year are the incredibly vibrant sunsets.  I love to sit on the beach and watch the colors change until they disappear.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of sunrises as well but the sunsets from this last week were just out of this world beautiful.

I have tons and tons of Maui sunset photos but didn’t want to overload you.  If you find yourself in Hawaii ever, make sure to watch the sun set.

Fall Favorite Snaps

IMG_5325

As you know, once the colors start turning they go so fast.  Right now the colors are in their prime so of course we ventured out to capture the gorgeous transition.  These snaps were so easy to shoot, just let mother nature show you her bright side.  When scouting for future shoots, we not only look for lighting but for beautiful settings to paint the backdrop.

My favorite part of having our blog is the creative freedom we have to do whatever we want.  My art is photography and I find no greater joy than to wander on a photo adventure!

Colors of Europe – Holland, London and Denmark.

IMG_1825I love, love, love bright colors.  They scream happy and artistic to me which says a lot about the people in a certain area.  I saw so many interesting colors that I wanted to share because everyone could use a little extra happy on hump day.  I found most of these places while biking around.  I love beautiful street art whether it comes in painted or architecture form.  It’s all eye candy to me.  (The above was in Amsterdam)

I hope these colors added a little happy to your day!

Sweater Weather

OK, more like heavy jacket weather but I’ve been listening to the song “sweater weather” by Neighbourhood a lot lately so I thought it was fitting.  Have you heard that song??  It’s such a jam.  I was up in my old stomping grounds this past weekend and it was one of the coldest but most beautiful weekends up in North Lake Tahoe.  Despite the cold, I was outside all weekend soaking in one of the most beautiful scenery’s in the world.  When I could muster up enough warmth to take my hands out of my mittens, this is what I was surrounded by.

IMG_6687(Emily and Matt are always kind enough to take me out on their snowmobiles and one of our favorite spots to go to is Watson Peak.  Can you beat this view?!)

IMG_6698(Emily is so awesome.  She’s so tiny but can rip a sled around better than most boys I know)

I headed to Squaw Valley for the day which was a stifling -9 degrees in the morning.  However, I was bundled and prepared and no amount of cold weather could have stopped me from enjoying one of my most favorite hobbies.  I got to snowboard with some close friends and explore the mountain.  With blue skies everywhere, it’s hard not to feel so lucky to have such a beautiful place only a 3 hours drive away.

I can’t help it, I like pretty things

I know the premise of our blog is typically humorous (at least we think) but sometimes I can’t help it.  I just love pretty things.  A lot of those pretty things tend to be in nature so I wanted to share some of the prettiest things I’ve seen recently.  Most things can’t be done justice in a photo but I do love to try.  Hawaii is heavenly and last week while I was there, I never fell short of inspiration.  I truly felt thankful to be spending time with my family in such a beautiful place.

(I loved the walking/running paths along the ocean.  You just can’t beat the views)

(The water is always warm)

(Sunsets that paint the entire sky)

(Unreal lighting)

(Vibrant colors)

(The baked goods are amazing)

(Unbelievable Sunsets)

The Hawaiian islands are magical for many reasons.  If you like pretty things the way I do, you will be in pure bliss.
