New Year, New Attitude.

DSC_0292When I was in New Zealand (Waitamo to be exact), we stayed on a mini farm with some very silly animals! They had so much personality and it was so easy to take photos of them. Looking back on these pictures, I think it is important to remind yourself to let loose and have a little fun, enjoy life!

DSC_0296(This guy. I couldn’t get one serious photo of him, not one)

DSC_0301(These guys. Real sleepers, I could learn a thing or two from them)

DSC_0293(He was just pretty. Kind of intimidating but also seemed to be the guy in charge).

If you get a chance to hang out with tame animals, take it. It’s a lot of fun to explore their personalities, every animal is so different.

Castle Rock

This past weekend a few of us backpacked out in Castle Rock to camp overnight. It’s a lot of fun to get out of the city and into somewhere really peaceful. Castle Rock is known for some of the cool bouldering spots but we didn’t try that just yet! Take a look at some of the beauty we saw.

(The sun set through the trees around 7:30)

(The hike was picturesque. Like something out of a fairy tale!)

(There were little streams running everywhere. I love the sound of  streaming water, it is very calming)

(Hawks were circling around something down below)

(We saw a deer nibbling on grass as we walked by)

(There were so many rocks to climb on top of. It was like being on top of the world!)

(A coincidence. I didn’t do this to our picnic table)

(The boys actually started a fire without a match or lighter!)

(We roasted marshmallows and drank wine, it was a lot of fun!)

I really like hiking through Northern California because it is cold and refreshing! I love the sounds at night (there are none!) and the fact that you get so much space to yourself, who could ask for more?
