Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String.

I know wrapping gifts can be the worst part of gift giving for some but if I have enough time, it’s actually the part that I love the most! I was trying to find creative ways to hide the identity of a gift my roommate was giving his girlfriend. After a lot of inspiration from Pinterest, here’s what I did with items I already had around the house.

Christmas Gift(I placed the gift inside of a larger box and wrapped the sides in tissue paper to keep it in place)

Christmas Gift(I used the back side of a brown paper Target bag to wrap the outside of the box)

Christmas Gift(Use extra twine or ribbon to simply wrap the outside of the box)

Christmas Gift(I cut out this design out of an old christmas bag that I had. Then used some thick stock white paper to address the gift. Instead of taping the paper to the box, use a mini clothes pin for some shabby chic flare!)

Dressing up a gift can make it extra exciting to present it to someone. If you have the time, go the extra mile this Christmas!

Berry Full.

IMG_8812While shooting for the blog a few weekends ago, Chels and I knew we needed to grab some snacks to take with us outdoors because we get real cranky without anything to eat for too long.  Chelsea had this great idea to throw some berries in a few glasses to bring with us so we could put them on the ground and know bugs weren’t going to get to them.  Then we realized these would be great party favors, table decorators, or even just a good way to display some healthy snacks.  Since it’s the season of ripe fruit, why not put some out for your friends/guests to enjoy!?

This was an easy, accidental find but a great one at that!  Surprise yourself or a friend with a healthy snack and fun wine glass to take home 😀

You’re Such a Lovely Cup

IMG_6874

OK, since my last post I attributed to a song (“Sweater Weather” by Neighbourhood) I thought I’d give this one the appropriate “Lovely Cup” by Grouplove.  We are HUGE music lovers and always on the hunt for good music or listening to music we consider classics so feel free to share with us anytime!  Anyway, sorry I got distracted.  With Valentine’s Day coming up, it’s such a great ‘holiday’ to gorge on sweet treats and hang out with your friends and/or lover.  This is a perfect sweet treat to have or even possibly make with your friends/lover.  Cake in a cup – genius!

What you will need:

– Glass mugs
– Cake mix of your liking (with needed ingredients: eggs, vanilla, etc.)
– Fun sprinkles or toppings

I only made two cups so I didn’t need much cake mix at all.  Half a batch of cake mix from a box will be plenty for two mugs.

IMG_6858(While the oven is pre-heating, I greased the mugs and mixed up the cake batter)

IMG_6862(I then filled the cups a little less than halfway full)

IMG_6864(You can then place the mugs directly on the oven rack once the oven is pre-heated)

IMG_6872(I started the timer with about 20 minutes but kept checking back as they actually finished around 30 minutes.  It’s a trial and error depending on how much cake mix you used.  I tried to follow the instructions on the cake box for cupcakes though)

IMG_6829(These sprinkles that I found at Target, are a gift from the baking gods.  I use them for sooo many things as you will see throughout the blog)

IMG_6877(I then added pretty/delicious sprinkles and a few marshmallows for some added sugar 😀  Valentine’s Day is worth splurging for)

IMG_6878Then, after you eat the cake, just fill up your mug with some coffee.  It’s perfection really.  It’s a great way to bribe people to spend some quality time with you.  I mean, I’d be sold!

Stuff Those Stockings!

cute xmas stockings

Alright, Christmas is next week and if you are busy working then you know what it’s like to have time fly by.  Our favorite gift part of Christmas is the stockings because they are usually filled with awesome trinkets and random sugary treats that you wouldn’t normally splurge on.  Check out some of our favorite stocking stuffer ideas for women (and maybe some men) and become easily prepared for the big day!

lottery tickets(Lottery scratcher tickets!  They are cheap and you could make someone else a winner, even if not it’s still fun to scratch away.  Someone always at least wins a new ticket.)

ryan gosling calendar(Ummm hello!  A mini Ryan Gosling calendar!  Who wouldn’t want to wake up to this on the daily…)

cute-happy-pink-post-it-smile(Cute stationary!  It makes work much more fun to (non)secretively pass notes like you are in middle school again)

Beautiful Headband(Sparkly headband for a lucky girl to wear for New Years!  Maybe even in Paris… =D)

blue-bottle-coffee(A gift card even if just for one coffee to a more expensive coffee shop that’s close to their office – it’s a real treat!)

We love giving to our friends and family at Christmas.  The most important thing during the holidays is getting to spend time with your closest friends and family but since giving gifts happens along the way, we thought we’d share some of our gift ideas.
