Summer Casual.

IMG_7159You may have gathered that I am on a quest to invest in quality pieces that be paired in various ways to create new outfits. This shirt was one that I recently picked up and found versatile enough to wear with jeans and skirts in any season. The last few days have been fairly cool which is the perfect time to pull out a shirt like this and make the outfit pop with a burst of color from my purse! Have I told you how much I LOVE this purse? I hope so, because I love it.

Weekend wear should be easy so I almost always wear these Franco Sarto shoes. They are easy to slip on and go with most everything.

This outfit would be nothing without this purse, have I told you how much I love it yet? I do!

School Days.

DSC_1117I am not sure if I was lucky or not because I didn’t have to wear a uniform to school. On one hand, it would have been easy enough to know what to wear to class each day and on the other I would have looked just like everyone else. I wasn’t a super fashionable kid growing up, I was obsessed with rock music and basically wore a band tee to school every day but that was my thing. So, I guess I am happy that I didn’t have to wear a uniform to school- but if I did I would want it to look like this.

(Shirt- thrift store find, Necklace- J. Crew, Skirt & Tights- Forever 21, Shoes- Charlotte Russe, Bag- Kate Spade)

DSC_1106(I love a chunky necklace tucked under a collar. It’s simple and cute)

DSC_1108(A thick cotton skirt is perfect for winter)

DSC_1112(I have had these oxford style booties for about 7 years and I love them more and more every time I put them on. They are classic and will work for me until the end of time. I repair smudges with a black sharpie…shhh, that is our secret)

DSC_1109(I love this color and the double zippers add extra space!)

I hope everyone had a lovely MLK Jr. Day!

Structured Sweatshirt.

DSC_1011

I purchased these fish printed pants last spring and really wanted to be able to wear them in winter. They are slightly cropped so I figured that I needed to find a warm top to keep me cozy throughout the dropping temperatures. This sweatshirt was on sale and fit the bill!

Greylin Darling.

IMG_2356

I recently went to the Livermore Outlets for the first time with my mom in search of a few new pieces to lift my closet so I could purge some of the old.  In my quest to find a perfect fit for a few weddings I will be attending coming up, I found this perfect dress from Greylin.  It’s comfortable, cute, and formal enough to wear to nice evening events.

It has a cute high V back cut.

I paired it with this black sequined clutch that was a Kate Spade score in the clearance section.

Simple Sunglass Guide

Brittany and I have a hefty collection of sunglasses, ranging from cheapies to designer. But let’s be real, mostly cheapies! Here’s a basic guide to pairs that look good on most anybody.

Untitled-1(Aviators. Brittany has a grab-n-go pair with a bold reflection. My Marc Jacobs pair is a little oversized without the rim and reflection. Both are great for all face shapes)

Untitled-2(Animal Print. These are wild and should be worn on the weekends!)

Untitled-3(Olive Green. The color of the moment. Whether they are Brittany’s Gucci’s or my heart shaped pair, this color looks good on everyone)

Untitled-4(Classic. Brittany has the tortoise shell wayfarer shaped glasses. And I have the retro Kate Spades. Both pairs are a lot of fun in these classic shapes)

img_9761(Unique. And then there are the bold shades that really stand out, but in all honesty, these aren’t for everyone! Only attempt this style when you are looking for some attention!)

There you have it, there are so many shape and colors to choose from, we know there is the perfect pair out there for you!

Think Pink.

DSC_1878I love the blocks of neon in this dress, I instantly was in love. It’s not every day that you can make pink and orange look cohesive together but I think that the simplicity of the dress makes it work.

DSC_1888(The pockets of this H&M dress makes it very casual)

DSC_1877I love wearing a lot of bright neon colors together, I really think they look good on all skin tones.

Summer Splash.

Summer Splash.I picked up this new pleated top from Anthropologie, and love the tie in the middle! It’s very loose fitting which is nice and the drawstring cinches the waist to add a bit of shape. I love the neutral coloring because it pairs well with my favorite super bright Kate Spade purse!

Ready for summer in the city!

We Will Never Be Royal.

Royal BlueThere’s something about the color royal blue that has caught our eye. When we were in Tahoe, the yellow leaves and weeds were so brilliant that it illuminated the blue sky. If you don’t have this color in rotation, we think you should as it looks good on all skin tones.

Royal blue is a great color that can be worked into the end of Fall and well into Winter!
