Tribal Threads.

IMG_7101I’ve been digging Top Shop’s trends lately and when I saw THIS thick threaded tribal skirt, I knew it was right up my alley.  It’s comfortable and fits like a glove.  Also, since it’s a thicker material I can wear it with a tank top in the summertime and a long sleeve in the winter.  A perfect addition to a capsule closet.

IMG_7106I add my fringe heels here and call it a day.  They are super comfortable as well and go with pretty much everything.

Oxblood.

DSC_1156One of my favorite colors to wear is Oxblood or Merlot. It’s such a rich color that can really add a pop to any look. I decided to try to push the limit on how much of the color I could realistically pull off in one go.

Balancing Jacket.

image

My good friend, Harry, is always fun to talk fashion with as he usually keeps up with the latest trends.  He was telling me about the balancing jacket trend and I decided I love it.  Your jacket keeps you warm but if you are already in kind of warm weather, you may want to put it on and take it off intermittently.  Such is the case in San Francisco, it seems the weather can never make up it’s mind.

This is a trend I think I’ll keep around 🙂

Casual Cool.

image

Some days I just don’t have it in me to dress up so I have a few staple pieces that I can mix and match to be able to be comfy.  Black skinny jeans and a jean jacket are two pieces that I get a ton of wear out of.  Even if one of the two rips a hole or starts to wear, I will replace it because they are my go-to’s.

These slip on island kicks are an easy way to add some color.  Similar shoes found here.

Duster Dance.

DSC_0536A great duster can be the perfect way to add some flare to a basic outfit. They are comfortable, flowy, and very feminine which creates a unique look. We took to the top of San Francisco to catch some wind and watch this duster dance.

DSC_0559This is a great look for the weekend, when you want to dress up a simple long sleeved top on a chill winter day. Living in the city, we are always looking for great long sweaters and dusters!

Tribal Maxi.

IMG_9677

I got this maxi recently and it’s turned out to be my new favorite go to for week and weekend days.  It’s a lightweight material and the colors are so bright, it puts me in an instant good mood.  I paired it with a good wide brimmed hat from the Gap and some gladiator sandals.

An easy outfit for the upcoming warmer days!

Spring Vest.

Spring Vest

One of my favorite purchases from Spring comes from the Nordstrom line “Touve“. It looks like a basic navy blue vest but has a sheer panel on each side, I love how unique it is and the fact that I can wear it to work too!

Spring Vest.Another vest I really want is here!

I haven’t seen anything like this before and am so impressed with everything Touve has to offer!

Smells Like Teen Spirit.

903Back when Chelsea and I channeled some of our favorite icons (Gwen Stefani and Audrey Hepburn), we thought to ourselves that we should also do a post on different eras.  It just so turns out that we both really only experienced the 90’s when we weren’t infants, so obviously it’s our favorite.  It has become so funny now that after I picked out my wardrobe pieces for the shoot, they are the pieces I tend to wear ALL the time.  Maybe I’ll always be a 90’s queen and I’m OK with that.

When in Doubt, Bling it Out

IMG_6935You know, I have a really hard time pulling together great outfits but if there’s one thing that makes a person look fancier without really trying it’s BLING.  You can throw on a spicy piece of bling with a plain t-shirt and be work ready in an instant.  I am the queen of trying to save time in the morning just so I can sleep in an extra 10 minutes so I’ve stocked up on bling to help me pull it together for work in a moments notice.

IMG_6923(Nordstrom BP studded clutch, Forever 21 ring)

IMG_6933(This wrap bracelet I got for Christmas and it’s the perfect piece of edgy bling to add to some jeans and a tank top)

So don’t forget that when in doubt, bling it out!

I’m A Little Bit Country But Mostly Rock & Roll!

While I do have love for horses, it in no way conflicts with my wardrobe and I also share that passion for music and hipster style! Concerts are one of the best forms of entertainment and as Chelsea said in her previous post, anything goes at a rock show.  I love layers and  accessories; my choices for rock wear are a good bold dress and some hot shoes.  Throw in some edgy jewelry and I’m sold, already walking out the door.  Pull it together and get to the show, there’s good tunes awaiting.

(Hat – Forever 21, Dress – topshop NY, shoes – Urban Outfitters, denim shirt – Nordstroms, chain – LITTER jewelry)

(I can’t talk enough about how much I love my LITTER leg chain garter.  The SF based jewelry company has some of the most unique pieces that I love rocking.)

(These Urban Outfitter wedges are hands down one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes that I own.)

(I’ve been loving cross jewelry lately.  This tiny cross bracelet adds a nice feminine touch with an edge.)

Rock shows and music festivals are one of the greatest forms of entertainment.  Throw on some rock attire and get out there to dance the night away.
