NOPA: Brunch Hot Spot

DSC_0803So there’s this thing called brunch and people in San Francisco love it. My favorite spot is Nopa because they have a short menu with unique items. You can’t go wrong with any of their bites or cocktails. Here’s some tips on how to make sure you get in and what to not miss!

DSC_0793(Get there about 30 minutes before the doors open, there will be a long line but it will be much shorter than if you didn’t get there early)

DSC_0815(Don’t miss the morning drinks- they are the only ones I will drink before 5PM. The Ramos Fizz is my favorite)

DSC_0829(Balance out your cocktails with Blue Bottle french press, you can split a half or full press)

DSC_0826(The mural is an homage to the city painted by the oh-so-talented Brian Barneclo.)

DSC_0806Nopa is a spot you don’t want to miss! It’s worth the wait in line and I don’t say that about many places!

New Music Monday.

Chelsea and I love music and are always out in the city checking out shows.  Portugal. the Man is one of our favorites so of course we were not going to miss the chance to see them play at a small venue (the Mezzanine) in San Francisco.  On top of Portugal. the Man, three other fantastic bands played as well.  Churches, the NONONO, and the Colourist were the other acts of the night and the house was packed.

First to play were the Colourist!  Check out some of their songs here (my favorite is Yes Yes)

Next up was the NONONO who sang her heart out.

CHVRCHES were incredible.  I love the song “Recover”!

I’ve been training for a 10k to feed the hungry in SF which I can honestly say I never thought I’d be doing since I don’t love running.  When my co-workers mentioned it though and that our donations would help feed hungry children in San Francisco, I figured now was the time to run if ever.  Last night while on a good run along Ocean Beach, I felt very grateful.  I’m grateful for a lot and especially these indian summer evenings.  I can’t believe my training grounds at times.  To end my run, I decided to walk down to the water just to take some last deep breathes of the fresh, warm air.  This is when I came across the most beautiful site, a man draping bubbles across the skyline.

Maybe Mr Bubbles will be back at Ocean Beach over the weekend.  If you’re from the area, it’s definitely worth trying to see.  Have a great weekend!
