I am not sure if I was lucky or not because I didn’t have to wear a uniform to school. On one hand, it would have been easy enough to know what to wear to class each day and on the other I would have looked just like everyone else. I wasn’t a super fashionable kid growing up, I was obsessed with rock music and basically wore a band tee to school every day but that was my thing. So, I guess I am happy that I didn’t have to wear a uniform to school- but if I did I would want it to look like this.
(Shirt- thrift store find, Necklace- J. Crew, Skirt & Tights- Forever 21, Shoes- Charlotte Russe, Bag- Kate Spade)
(I love a chunky necklace tucked under a collar. It’s simple and cute)
(A thick cotton skirt is perfect for winter)
(I have had these oxford style booties for about 7 years and I love them more and more every time I put them on. They are classic and will work for me until the end of time. I repair smudges with a black sharpie…shhh, that is our secret)
(I love this color and the double zippers add extra space!)
I hope everyone had a lovely MLK Jr. Day!

Brittany found this great lookout in San Francisco and decided we had to take photos there. I am so glad she did because it gave new life to this beautiful skirt I got at Anthropologie post-Christmas.
(It has a princess feel to it, I love how it shimmers in the sun)
(I pair it with these awesome booties Lindsay gave me and a simple clutch. With a skirt like this, basics pair best)
(It’s actually on sale right now)
We found the way this skirt looks best, high above the most beautiful city in the world with a breeze to compliment it!

We believe in wearing your favorite piece over and over again because they are just clothes and it is fun to reinvent in outfit in a new way. But sometimes, there is that one skirt that just looks best with a basic tank and this is that skirt for me. You have seen it before here but I chose to wear it again on a crazy warm day in Sydney (think 95 degrees)! We were walking through the Botanical Gardens to the Opera House, this was a great day!
(The view isn’t too bad, is it?)
(This hat went through a lot on this trip, it flew off my head on a boat but was retrieved thankfully because it was my saving grace against the sun)
(A bit washed out but there is the Opera House behind us)
Sydney is such an active city, everyone is running, jogging, or walking around the city. It was a beautiful day and we were so happy to soak in the sites!

I’ve grown quite fond of the 50’s mixed with new age style skirts that have started to make an appearance in the fashion world. They are classic, stylish, and a nice way to change up your wardrobe. I recently spent some time at Banana Republic trying to update my work wear and this was one of my new finds. Of course I ended up with slacks and blouses as well but this skirt was an additional great find. They are having a huge sale right now so if you are looking for some new work wear, I’d suggest hitting up Banana.
I paired the skirt with a low backed, short sleeved body suit. For colder weather, I will add a cardigan to complete the 50’s spin.
Throw on some simple black sandals/heels and call it a day!

Peter Pilotto for Target, enough said. I love when Target introduces their designer lines and this has been my absolute favorite! It’s SO loud and very chic. This is actually a long sleeved top tucked into a skirt. At first I wasn’t sure how this would look but I have gotten nothing but compliments, it is just so fun.
(Peter Pilotto– it’s actually on clearance now- grab what you can! Their pieces are so soft)
Nick just can’t get enough of this outfit!
(Sweater Forever 21, Skirt Forever 21, Tights Nordstrom, Booties Luxury Rebel)
One of my favorite things to do is wear skirts when the temperature starts to drop. It doesn’t make much sense but I just want to find any reason to pull out a pair of tights, they are more comfortable than pants and look so much more sleek with shoes. I liked pairing this grey pearl sweater with a flared striped skirt because it feels simple but has a lot of character.

The color of the season (for me at least) is plum. When I saw this pleather skirt I knew I had to scoop it up. The high waist was the perfect partner to this collared crop top I had just purchased.
(The rhinestones add something extra to this cropped sweater)
(Thick grey tights keep the warmth)
(Plum booties, from Forever 21)
I love skirts and tights in Fall, it is my absolute favorite look of the season. I can’t wait to scoop up more plum colored pieces soon!

Our friend Liv kept it classic with a gorgeous beaded skirt from Anthropologie during our LA trip! She kept it soft on the top and colorful on the bottom, let’s take a look at how she wore this amazing piece!
(The neutral sweater allows the bright skirt to pop)
(Each section of the skirt has a different beaded pattern)
(Aviators and flip flops complete the California look)
Liv’s style is always a mix of funky and classic, it’s hard for most people to pull off but she makes it look easy! The trick is when you have a bold piece, wear something neutral to let it shine!

In my opinion, Fall is the most wonderful time of the year. The leaves are changing colors, the weather is perfect, and the aroma of pumpkin fills the air. Fall is a season that I wish would stay all year round.
(It’s not pant season yet! This fluttery orange skirt serves as the focal piece and looks amazing with a light blue chambray top.)
(These neutral booties
are super comfortable and I will be rocking them all season long)
(I try to pull out as much orange as possible during September and October, I can’t get enough. This skirt is light and beautiful!)
(Here is a more detailed view of the booties, as well as a closer look at my woven hat and accent necklace piece.)
