All Things Pumpkin.

We’re so excited for Fall, we had to reblog a favorite!Pug Sweater

I think by now you have figured out that Autumn is our favorite season, not just because kids are back in school and have stopped razor scootering around us like we are in a game of Frogger but because we just F@#*ing love pumpkins.

Phoenix the Cat

(About two years ago I found out that Brittany liked cats so I decided to show her a picture of my friend’s cat, Phoenix, who was dressed up like a pumpkin. She proceeded to laugh and cry at the same time for the next 15 minutes. I don’t see what is so funny though)

Pumpkin Spice Latte(September through November means a significant weight gain for me because I dabble in the daily Pumpkin Spice Latte market. They are available at every coffee shop so it is kind of impossible to avoid. I tried taking different routes to work but I just ended up lost, late, and sitting in a pile of leaves sipping on a Pumpkin Spice Latte from a coffee shop I just discovered on my new route to work)

Pumpkins Muffins

(I can’t stress enough how important it is to eat at least one thing Pumpkin related each week in Fall. Not sure if you have done this yet but make some of our Pumpkin Muffins this weekend and fill that quota)

Smashing Pumpkins(I love this band and I love Billy Corgan. It’s not like I am obsessed, have a restraining order, and a tattoo of their logo on my butt…yet. Anyway they are on tour now and just released an amazing album called Oceania which is totally my new jam)

Pumpkin Beer(Blue Moon makes a good Pumpkin Ale that is completely seasonal. Drink with caution, you don’t want to end up as a pumpkin who has had one too many- it’s just not a good look)

Today Is The Greatest.

Much like yesterday’s post, I am obsessed with 90’s alternative music and culture for that matter. I loved Empire Records, Angus, and of course Smashing Pumpkins. In the 90’s I wore nothing but band tee’s and painted each of my nails a different color. I had a huge boombox that would have Siamese Dream on loop, all day every day. I am pretty sure my mom wanted to kill me but that was the 90’s and it was awesome.

REM Monster

(In the 90’s it was all about denim and baby doll dresses. You’ll notice it’s starting to come back!)

hair(I don’t remember ever straightening my hair even once)

demin(This cropped jean jacket is something I just picked up from UNIQLO)

IMG_8986(Doc Martens were super popular. These are a tamer version of those but I still love the look of a combat boot and a skirt)

90’s music has never left my CD player’s rotation. And yes, I still own over 200 CD’s, they’re pretty much my favorite things I own.

New Beginnings.

IFLYesterday Brittany resigned from the office we work in together to start a new adventure! We have a few weeks left together at work and while I am sad that I won’t be able to see her whenever I want anymore, we will still be besties and share all of our good times together on this blog. With that said, I wanted to share one of my very favorite Brittany memories with you all. This is the one that I always reflect on and laugh because if I could describe Brittany in one word, I couldn’t. But I can share this story with you.

First, you should know that my favorite band is the Smashing Pumpkins and hers is the Wombats (who we are seeing tonight so this is very fitting).  It goes like this:

Chelsea: You know, I think I might like Two Door Cinema Club better than the Wombats

Brittany: How could you say that? You know I love the Wombats!

C: I know, I love them too but I think I might just like Two Door a little better

B: No, that is like me saying, “I like the Silversun Pickups better than the Smashing Pumpkins”

C: But you do like the Silversun Pickups better than the Smashing Pumpkins

B: I know, but I would NEVER say that to you!

And there you have it, Brittany is just a great friend. She can always make me laugh, even when she doesn’t mean to at all. It’s really simple, she just doesn’t have a bad bone in her body and that is why I will miss seeing her face Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. But we will always have lunch.

IFL(Now who’s going to fix me when I’m a mess?!)
