While at the lake the other weekend, the lighting was just right so we stopped to snap some photos. I’m always so in awe of this place and love sharing it. Hope this brings you some eye candy to kick off your week.
Have a great week!
If you read this blog, you know what a huge horse fan I am. Some of my favorite moments are spent at the barn no matter what the weather is. When the sun is going down, I find great solace in spending time at the barn during the golden hour as I like to call it :). I brought my camera out the last time I was there for a sunset and snapped some photos to be able to share this magical time.
All of the local animals are out at this time.
As we say farewell to Fall, I look forward to snowy winters in the mountains.
One of my favorite things about Hawaii is its vibrant skies. Sunrises and sunsets always seem to be extremely colorful and enjoyable. Since we had some rainy weather, the clouds also tended to light up as the day was beginning or ending.
Love the clouds from this day.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Chels and I did a quick shopping trip to H&M recently and were pleasantly surprised with all of the fun work clothes they have right now. I got this fun patterned skirt and sheer lace bottomed top that I paired together. It’s an easy way to jazz up your work wardrobe for those who don’t want to spend a lot.
I love the combo of patterns and colors.
Get some fresh air after work today if the golden hour is just right :).

I’m a huge fan of sunsets (I may post too much about them – Santa Cruz, Hawaii, SF). Lake Tahoe just knows how to put on a color show. Whether it be sunrise or sunset, don’t miss one of the lake’s epic spectacles.
I love going to the beach all year round but sunsets in San Francisco at the beach aren’t those warm summer nights you might hope for. I still like to walk bare foot in the sand but I make sure to bundle up with a really good wind resistant jacket and a hat to keep my hair from whipping all over the place.
Of course I wear shoes to the beach but take them off the minute my feet can hit the sand.
My go to outerwear is my Helly Hansen jacket and Big Truck hat. Some of the most beautiful sunsets are the cold ones. The colors tend to splay a lot more vibrantly.
After being at work all day, I love to go outside and be silly. There’s something about being at the beach that makes me want to play like a kid again.
Hoping to catch a few more good ones this weekend while away in Paso Robles!
Over the weekend, I made it my mission to just hang around the city and relax. I love being on the go and don’t usually rest as much as I should so I did a mini taste tour around the sunset district in San Francisco and thought I’d share my good finds. I’ve pretty much quit coffee, I now drink tea so not a caffeine purge, but when this adorable Snowbird Coffee shop opened up I couldn’t wait to try it.
It’s such a quaint, cute spot with hand poured coffees.
Not to mention, cute little accents.
There’s also a awesome recycling program they have in the back of their store. You can bring your old bottle of shampoos/soaps/etc and they will refill it for a much lower price than if you bought in store. Love this concept and I can’t wait to go snag some re-fills!
I went for the almond milk latte and enjoyed it immensely.
If you are a beer fan, the other notable stop in the sunset district is the new Sunset Reservoir Brewery. We tried some appetizers and the beer sampler. They have a dinner menu that I’m sure is pretty good but it seems like a better place for some beers and snacks.
It’s a really great space with lots of great features. We were sitting up on a balcony but there is plenty of space throughout the brewery.
My favorite of the 5 samples was the Double IPA if you are an IPA fan.
There you have it, two new spots for great sips in the sunset district of San Francisco! What are some of your favorite spots?
While in Pt. Reyes, Nick and I took in the sunset. While I was sifting through our photos I noticed we captured the natural movement and really loved the way they looked side by side. I hope you do too.
(Light peaks out from behind the clouds)
The sun disappeared and reappeared throughout the sunset itself, it was something I had never seen before!
Rob and I took a day last weekend to get to Santa Cruz to enjoy the sunshine and we picked the most perfect day to do so. It was a gorgeous day with a tasty lunch followed by a dynamic sunset. I know I may be a bit sunset obsessed but the colors always captivate me. How can you not find enjoyment from this view?! We soaked it all in at Steamer Lane.
I’ve always loved the ocean. The sound, the sight, and just the pure peacefulness.
Watching the surfers catch wave after wave.
The Santa Cruz beach boardwalk lighting up for the night.
Am I the only sunset junkie out there?
Before I lived in San Francisco, I heard so many myths people tell about the city and believed them because I didn’t know myself. Now that I live here, it’s funny how different I see a lot of these “urban myths” if you will. One of the biggest myths is how freezing it is in the winter especially at the ocean. I love spending time at Ocean Beach so I just prepared to bundle up during the winter. However, it’s actually much less windy in the winter. Not sure why that is but it can actually be incredible weather in the winter. Last year I posted about one of the most perfect winter weather nights at Ocean Beach here. Now that I know it wasn’t just a one time thing, I thought I’d share the secret : ).
Sunset is one of the busiest times at the beach but there’s no question why. It’s incredible to watch the surfers at sunset as the sun slowly slides down the horizon.
A good friend recently cleared her closet and handed down a ton of her amazing past pieces to me. One of them included this awesome floor length Ralph Lauren open back dress.
I love shooting photos. I’ll zoom in from afar and shoot photos of the water. Last year we saw tons of whales and dolphins so you just never know what you will see!
Even though it’s warm, bring something to keep covered as the sun continues to disappear. It does get a tad cold.
After the full moon came up and the sun went down, we headed home. You have to look all around while at the beach because the views are stunning all the way around!
