While at the lake the other weekend, the lighting was just right so we stopped to snap some photos. I’m always so in awe of this place and love sharing it. Hope this brings you some eye candy to kick off your week.
Have a great week!
Believe it or not, the above picture is Boca Lake (near Truckee, CA) completely frozen over. While visiting with my good friends recently, they took me to go pond skating which was SO much fun. They get to go pretty often and have some friends they play around on the ice with. They had some extra skates that fit so I got to even do some skating. This was a first for me but I love being outside and used to love ice skating when I was a kid!
Here’s Emily and I playing pass with some hockey sticks and a puck.
The ice was beautifully crystallized. I’ve never seen anything like it!
We skated all the way out to the middle of the lake, it was unreal.
Can you imagine having an entire lake to ice skate on? It was pretty great.
I was worried I may have forgotten how to skate but it’s just like riding a bike, it comes right back. Although it did take some time to remember where my balance needed to be.
There wasn’t much snow but I also was able to check out Squaw for a bit. The lines were short and it was spring like conditions. It turned out to be pretty fun!
Anytime spent in the mountains is well spent, especially if you get to do it with friends 🙂
Also, we hope you take a moment today to remember Martin Luther King. With everything going on in our country, it’s important to remember him and what he stood for. Hope you all had a great weekend!
Last weekend I got to spend some time adventuring with Emily. We had so much fun taking her jeep on some backroads to explore. She knows all the good places so we hopped in and took off. The Sierra Nevada mountain range is full of hidden treasures. Some of them aren’t even hidden :).
We ended up back at this amazing meadow, remember this from THIS post? How differently beautiful does it look from the last time?
We also found some mud puddle to go through which we may gotten the jeep a little bit dirty : )
We stopped to play with our cameras and let the dogs run. What better place to soak it all in?
It’s sad how there isn’t any snow and it’s January but we found a way to still enjoy the beautiful outdoors!
This past weekend I was able to spend some time with one of my greatest friends from high school on. Her and her husband now live in a beautiful area near Tahoe and we spent this past weekend exploring it. Nothing like a good weekend adventure 🙂
Of course, we couldn’t leave these two behind!
We stumbled upon this amazing meadow.
Stay tuned for pictures of the Crystal Mine we visited!
I must confess, lately I’ve been less interested in fashion and more interested in adventure. I do love fashion but there’s nothing like fresh air and a new setting to get the creative juices flowing. Chels and I are ready to hop back in the game but I must give credit to some of my most recent weekend trips. Here are some photos I’ve been snapping that brought me back!
Lake Tahoe at sunrise before snowboarding.
The beautiful and clear water.
It doesn’t get much better than this.
What’s your inspiration?
With the weather cooling down, we are excited to bundle up. I love nothing more than the changing of seasons and I still love being outside as long as I’m dressed warm enough. Beanies and over-sized jackets are our favorite clothes in the winter.
