Bodysuit Hack – Turn it around!

img_2069(Bodysuit – Madewell they no longer carry this one but here are some others, Jeans – American Eagle, Bag – gift from my mom that she got in Italy at a market, Necklace – gift from my brother/sister in law from a fair trade market in Sonoma, Sunglasses – Forever21)

When bodysuits started to become a trend, I loved how flattering they were on people and I really wanted to try them out.  However, I could never find one that looked like it would fit well or wasn’t too skimpy for my body type.  I ended up buying this one here in this post from Madewell one day without trying it on with the thought process that since it was long sleeved, how could it go wrong?  Well the V-Neck cut of it was just too deep for my chest and it’s been sitting in my closet for months.  One day my friend and co-worker, Mallory, walked into the office with this adorable back swooped body suit that I had to ask about.  Turns out, she had a similar problem as myself and was crafty enough to figure out that a good way to still wear the bodysuit was simply to turn it around.  I went from never wearing my body suit to it being one of my favorite tops thanks to this hack!

img_2076I love how classy the high neck looks on the body suit now.  Someone even complimented it the other day and said it looked like an Audrey Hepburn look the other day.  I was so flattered!

img_2091A friend passed down these Madewell booties to me and they are so comfortable, I wear them all the time.  Also, props for all the clothing swaps I’ve had with my friends and family.  I truly get such great use out of hand me downs.

img_2072When in doubt, flip it around!  Thanks Mallory for your creativity and outfit hacking!

Happy 4th of July everyone – enjoy the holiday week.

Wedding Wear It Again

IMG_7092When you are going to a wedding, it is important to look your best but also feel comfortable for a night of dancing and celebrating! I had been eyeing this dress for months and it finally went on sale at Anthropologie (unfortunately it is sold out now). I justified purchasing a dress I really didn’t need because I have so many weddings this year and it is just perfect to wear to a couple of them because it isn’t white! Surprisingly about 70% of my wedding appropriate dresses are white, so I really need to get my act together.

IMG_7097(It has a subtle snap in the front to keep it all together. This necklace was a gift from my grandparents on my 8th grade graduation- it’s still my favorite)

I feel like Steve Nicks in this dress and that is never a bad thing! Check your local Anthropolgie to see if they still have this dress in stock, it’s such a beautiful color!

Easy Breezy

IMG_9840Brittany gave me this great dotted chevron print top from Charlotte Russe the other day. We were so lucky to have an actual day of summer weather in San Francisco, that I decided to pair it with my new pair of white shorts (Old Navy). I think this is a very simple and comfortable outfit for the breezy summer days.

Last year I was all about this fun floral romper and this year I’m all about floral anything!  I absolutely love the bright, happy feeling a good floral print can bring.  Spring has sprung and there’s no problem with hiding it.  Check out some of our favorite florals below.

Suspender Trending.

Suspender TrendingOne trend I always loved in middle and high school was suspenders. Now that is seems to be trending again, I fell in love with this suspender mini skirt. I paired it with a simple full neck tank, black tights, and my new leopard flats from the Gap. Clutch DIY coming soon!

Suspender TrendingThis simple look is fun and youthful, perfect for the office or weekend!

Most people are out on suspenders but I love them because they are effortless!

The Cat’s Meow.

IMG_4102My co-worker Katie has it down when it comes to picking the perfect fierce feline shirt.  We’ve had quite the obsession with spotting this trend so when she picked up this number from Charlotte Russe, it was obvious it was a winner.

Roar.

IMG_3823OK, so as much as I love Katy Perry’s new track “Roar,” I did not love her VMA performance.  However, it seems like the track is making a pretty powerful statement.  Have you noticed how the new fashion trend seems to be kitten/lion/tiger prints?!  I paired this Roar-iffic large necklace with a very casual Tee and some shorts.  After all, one statement piece says enough.

IMG_3824(I love my dainty shark tooth bracelet from Forever21)

Party Pants.

Euro PantsA popular European trend that is hitting the Pacific shore is the slouchy party pant! They are super soft and always funky, we weren’t sure about them at first but quickly learned to love how unbelievable comfy they are!

Hip To Be Square.

Brittany scored these amazing leggings from Lucca, in a literal last minute dash to a street vendor. I wasn’t sure how we would dress them up but we put together the ultimate hipster outfit that I loved!

Hip1

Hip2(Small plus signs decorate these soft leggings)

Hip3(This jean jacket and bowler hat dress up the leggings in a crisp way)

Hip4(Hat from Urban Outfitters, jacket from Forever 21)

Hip5(Luxury Rebel booties)

I love this fun weekend look, it’s really stylish and even more comfortable. You’ll notice we repeat a few of our favorite pieces, my favorite is this jacket that Brittany picked up a couple of years ago. I love when an article of clothing can we worn in multiple ways.
