Wedding Wear It Again

IMG_7092When you are going to a wedding, it is important to look your best but also feel comfortable for a night of dancing and celebrating! I had been eyeing this dress for months and it finally went on sale at Anthropologie (unfortunately it is sold out now). I justified purchasing a dress I really didn’t need because I have so many weddings this year and it is just perfect to wear to a couple of them because it isn’t white! Surprisingly about 70% of my wedding appropriate dresses are white, so I really need to get my act together.

IMG_7097(It has a subtle snap in the front to keep it all together. This necklace was a gift from my grandparents on my 8th grade graduation- it’s still my favorite)

I feel like Steve Nicks in this dress and that is never a bad thing! Check your local Anthropolgie to see if they still have this dress in stock, it’s such a beautiful color!

Wedding Ready.

IMG_7113You guys know what time of year it is- wedding season! Now, I love a wedding as much as the next person but I have nine this year (including my own). This means I needed to shuffle through mu closet and make sure I have what it takes to be a stylish and appropriate guest to all of these parties. Luckily, I wore a wedding dress to my own in May so that was easy to prepare for and I am in my friend Tasha’s wedding at the end of the month so I just have that one taken care of too! Anthropologie just had their major summer sale and I scored big on some dresses that I knew would be perfect for a few particular weddings, plus I had been eyeing these dresses all spring long! Patience does pay off sometimes 😉

IMG_7110(The entire dress is embroidered which is one of my favorite things in the world)

DIY Wedding Table Numbers

2015-11-14 08.17.50This weekend a couple of friends and I made these awesome table numbers for my wedding. We cooked up this idea as we were shopping at Michaels! What you’ll need:

  • Open wooden boxes
  • Wooden numbers
  • Rose gold pray paint
  • Rose gold glitter
  • craft glue
  • hot glue
  • fake flowers, moss, etc

2015-11-14 04.37.26(Spray the boxes and let them dry)

2015-11-14 04.42.59(You could choose any color but I love rose gold so we went in that direction)

2015-11-14 04.43.08(Spray the numbers – both sides)

2015-11-14 06.57.25(Once dry, apply craft glue to the numbers)

2015-11-14 06.57.47(Dip in glitter immediately)

2015-11-14 06.57.50(Don’t you love that sparkle?)

2015-11-14 07.10.23(Warning: You will be covered in glitter)

2015-11-14 08.06.11(Get your supplies in order)

2015-11-14 08.17.41(Hot glue the glittered number to the inside of the box)

2015-11-14 08.17.37(Begin to decorate)

2015-11-14 08.17.32(This is the fun part!)

2015-11-14 08.36.04(Use the hot glue to set things in place)

2015-11-14 08.36.22(Get creative with how you present them- we will use books)

There you have it! They take a while but they really shimmer! I’m very happy with how they turned out and can’t wait to use them soon!

Majestic Malibu.

This weekend I was lucky enough to go to Malibu for a beautiful wedding.  There was a group of us who rented a beach house and got the privilege of being able to sleep to the sound of crashing waves.

We know how lucky we were to have rented the house for just the weekend, could you imagine living there? Oh, beautiful Malibu, I miss you already!

Wedding Wear: Part 2

IMG_3313Doesn’t it seem like the season where you are going to wedding’s practically every other weekend?  I absolutely love weddings but the hardest part is knowing what to wear so you can be comfortable, classy, and cute.  I went for a longer sleeve and shorter hem with a chevron pattern.  This way you can mix and match with your friends and each give different options to wear.

IMG_3316(I also matched this adorable small yellow purse with the dark blue)

IMG_3317(Recognize the earrings?  Chelsea and I showed how you can use them with two different looks)

Weddings can be so much fun, especially when you dress comfortable enough to be able to eat, drink, and dance the night away!

Wedding Wear Part One.

It’s Summer and that always means one thing, weddings. Brittany recently got some great dresses from Charlotte Russe and thought they would be great to wear at some upcoming weddings. I couldn’t agree more!

(Blue and tan are great wedding colors, pretty much color but white and black)

Wedding3(The zipper details is one of my favorite parts of the dress)

Wedding5(A bold nail color adds to the Summer feel)

Wedding6(Open toed shoes are a must at warm weddings)

Wedding7(We opted for no necklace, instead a geometric earring)

We love dressing up for any occasion but weddings are the most fun, just make sure you put something on that you can dance in!

Oh, The Places You’ll Go.

I was looking through my photos the other day and some made me laugh while others made me say “what was that?!” Either way, they all bring back great memories and I thought I would share some of my favorites with you.
